A lot? Well, that’s obvious. But, the question is that would you give up your husband for the sake of spending the rest of your days with your absolute favorite doggos? Well, I’m not sure about any of you, but there’s this one amazing lady named Liz Haslam from the village Barnham in Suffolk, England who did exactly that.
You see, Liz was put into an unusual delimma of choosing between her husband Mike or her pet dogs. So for any other person the choice would be obvious but for Liz it wasn’t. She belongs from a Dog-loving family so she opted to keep her dogs. (And tbh why not? Doggos for life!)
Now it wasn’t easy leaving Mike after being married for so long, but her unconditional love for Dogs didn’t leave her with much of a choice.
Anyway, She doesn’t regret her decision as she is too busy doing what makes her happy! And not only does she like keeping dogs to herself, but also she runs a foster home for all the neglected, stray and ill pups out there.

They met when Liz was only 16 and got married in 1991.
But after 25 years of their marriage, Mike made Liz choose between him and her dogs. The answer was obvious.
“I thought after 25 years, he should know giving up the dogs was not what my intentions were,” said liz.
“My husband said ‘it is me or the dogs.’ I haven’t seen or heard from him since”
However, everything was good at first.
In the initial years of their marriage, the couple moved into a two-bedroom farmhouse with almost half acre of land. That’s when Liz decided to start a Boarding Kennel Business.
She started taking in sick dogs and took care of their health-related problems. She also started a foster home for them.
Currently Liz fosters about 30 dogs that she rescued.
Most of her dogs have health problems and other issues. For instance, five of her dogs are deaf while two are one-eyed.
One of the dog suffered brain-damage and has other multiple health problems.
But these pups are lucky to have someone like Liz to take care of them. She spends about 18 hours with them everyday.
“It is very deliberating job, you can’t have a day off,’ Liz said
“I don’t sit down till 11:30pm at night so you can’t just go on holiday”
“And I can’t just turn around and say I am not going to do it anymore, it is my responsibility, I took the dogs in I can’t just stop”
However, not everything is good. You see, even though Liz runs a good business it barely covers the cost of anything.
And that’s not the worst part. Liz is now being evicted from the land because of her financial problem.
However, she is not sad at all and is looking for a new place to live. “I have chosen to do this. I love it” As long as she is with her dogs nothing in the world can take her happiness away!
